Red Wings eliminate Predators
The Detroit Red Wings closed out their opening series with a 3-0 victory over Nashville. Goals from Nicklas Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski and Jiri Hudlerensured a valuable win on the road for their side. Detroit's victory ensures they will benefit from a couple of rest days before the Western Conference semi finals.
Nashville had a power play when they were stung by a freak goal from Lidstrom, who took his shot from past the red line and scored 13:44 of the second period for a short-handed goal.
