Flyers see off Capitals
The Philadelphia Flyers claimed a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals as Joffrey Lupul netted a rebound during a power play over six minutes into overtime. The Flyers, who who had led 3-1 in the seven game series, lost their last two matches before clinching the final fixture to seal the win.
Nicklas Backstrom had given Washington an early lead as they looked to level the series at 3-3 but Scottie Upshall took advantage of a first period power play to level.
Sami Kapanen fired the Flyers into the lead ten minutes into the second period, before Alexander Ovechekin levelled for the Capitals.
But Lupul had the final word, scoring deep into overtime to give Philadelphia a vital victory.
