Woods could have fought with meningitis
Clinton Woods could have been suffering from a strain of meningitis during his world title bout against Antonio Tarver - according to his trainer Dennis Hobson. The Sheffield fighter was easily beaten in his IBF light-heavyweight title fight and Hobson has ordered a series of blood tests after one of Woods' friends was diagnosed with the virus.
Hobson is now awaiting the latest results and hopes they can shed some light on his fighter's poor performance.
Hobson told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Even if he hadn't had the full blown virus, he could have had some sort of effect.
"It gets your mind boggling, has it had an affect? You don't know if Clinton has had a milder version of this virus.

Oh wow, that's a bit umm... frightening? He definitely had a really poor fight, so the meningitis theory seems like a real possibility to me. We will all know once that bloodwork comes back, but something certainly did seem more than a little odd about that fight.
