Hodgson fearing the drop
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has admitted that if his team are relegated it would probably be the biggest disappointment in his 32-year career. The Cottagers play Manchester City at Eastlands on Saturday, five points from safety with only three games remaining.
But Hodgson, who took Inter Milan to the Uefa Cup Final in 1997 only to lose to Schalke 4-1 on penalties, believes his side can escape the drop.
He said: "It would be a major disappointment if Fulham were relegated and I don't know if it will be the worst in a 32-year career.
"Losing the UEFA Cup final on penalties is going to take a little bit of beating. But I didn't come here to see the team go down, so it would be a major blow to me.
"We've had bad luck at times but I think the club has great potential and if we survive in the Premier League we'll definitely be stronger next season."
And the 60-year-old, who took over from Lawrie Sanchez in late December, is confident Fulham achieve only their second away win of the season against Manchester City.
He added: "We will go out there and do our very best to get the three points that we need to keep us in the hunt to avoid relegation.
"I believe we can do it. If we get a bit of luck on our side in the last three games and we play well, why wouldn't I believe we can escape relegation?"

All that I can do as a fan is wish Roy Hodgson and Fulham the best that I can, and hopefully they can pull through everything OK. Whatever the final results are, I am sure that Fulham intends to give their all. Some interesting games should be in the making here.
