O'Sullivan hits maximum to see off Williams
Ronnie O'Sullivan hit a superb 147 as he beat Mark Williams 13-7 to reach the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championships at the Crucible in Sheffield. It was the ninth maximum of the two-time World Champions career, which beats the record of eight that he shared with Stephen Hendry.
O'Sullivan was superb in the latter stages of the game and finished his Welsh opponent off with breaks of 71, 60, 100 and then 147 in a fantastic display.
The defeat means that Williams drops out of the world's top 16 and will have to qualify for ranking tournaments.
