West Bromwich all but promoted

West Bromich Albion effectively secured their promotion from the Championship to the Premier League after recording a 1-1 draw with lowly Southampton. Tony Mowbray's FA Cup semi-finalists needed a late goal from Chris Brunt though, after the Saints had opened the scoring.

WBA piled on the pressure in the second half, in particular. But in the 77th minute against the run of play striker Adam Lalana, in only his sixth appearance for the club, scored his first goal for the club to briefly lift them away from the relegation zone.

But they couldn't hang on and Brunt's third goal of the season with five minutes remaining, sparked the home fans' celebrations.

A pitch invation followed, and banners saying, 'We are going up', were unfurled.

Such is their superior goal difference to Hull and Stoke City WBA should be crowned champions and be promoted to the Premier League after an absence of two years.

Well, they deserve our congratulations and support! West Bromwich definitely deserved that promotion, and they have been work very hard to secure it for themselves. Hope this continuing going so well in the future.
