European Football Round-Up
Lyon drew 0-0 with Nice as they gave second-placed Bordeaux some hope that they can prevent Alain Perrin's side from claiming their seventh successive Ligue 1 title. The woodwork was hit three times in an entertaining first-half as Lyon extended their lead over Laurent Blanc's Bordeaux to five points.
The challengers play Marseille on Sunday, and if they cut the gap to two points they will harbour real hopes of overhauling the odds-on favourites over the final two rounds of the season.
In Germany, Werder Bremen beat Energie Cottbus 2-0 to delay Bayern Munich's title celebrations, with Ottmar Hitzfeld's side now requiring just one point from their final four games to be crowned champions.
Bayern travel to Vfl Wolfsburg on Sunday.
In Scotland, Celtic required a late goal from on-loan Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras to seal a 2-1 win at Motherwell as Gordon Strachan's side extended their lead over Rangers to eight points.
The title is still very much up for grabs, however, as UEFA Cup Finalists Rangers - who are facing a severe fixture pile-up - have four games in hands on their bitter rivals.
