Vettori confident his finger will be OK for first Test

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori will enter the first Test against England having had only 11 overs of English conditions under his belt. The 29-year-old finger against Essex during his first tour game since arriving from India. The slow bowler needed two stitches on his spinning finger after catching a return through.

But he is convinced he will make the Test which begins at Lord's on May 15.

He said of the freak injury: "I've never seen it happen to anyone else in cricket - and the number of times guys catch cricket balls, it's amazing. I'm confident of being ready for the first Test."
