Collymore signs for champions Sussex

County champions Sussex CCC have announced they have signed West Indian Test bowler Corey Collymore on a one year contract. The seamer has signed as a Kolpak registered player, though the English and Welsh Cricket Board will have to clear the transfer this week.

Collymore has 30 Test caps for the Windies, and has taken 93 wickets at an average of 32.30. He has played in the County Championship before, with Warwickshire.

Mark Robinson, Sussex's professional cricket manager, said: "Obviously with the departure of Ryan Harris, we have been keen to bring in a new bowler.

"With his international experience and excellent work ethic, Corey fits the bill perfectly." Collymore added: "The call from Sussex the other day was a very welcome one.

"I've been itching to come over and play county cricket and to be picked by the champions has filled me with confidence.I'm ready to give it my all and can't wait to get started."
