Clarke given compassionate leave
Michael Clarke will miss the beginning of Australia's three-Test tour to the West Indies after being given compassionate leave. The vice captain, who will be absent for 'private family reasons', will now travel separately from the rest of the squad which will leave on Saturday ahead of the opening Test on May 22.
Michael Hussey has been named as vice-captain in the interim period with Australia also facing a Twenty20 international and five one-day games.
A statement from CA read: "Clarke's arrival date in the West Indies is currently unclear."
Hussey added: "Despite the circumstances it is a huge honour to be given the role of vice-captain, even if it may only be for a short period of time."
