Wenger: It will be criminal if Arsenal don't challenge for the title next season
Arsene Wenger says it will be "criminal" if his young Arsenal side are not challenging for the Premier League title next season. Wenger is still getting over the disappointment of missing out on the championship, despite seeing his side lead the table for a large part of the season.
The Arsenal boss is also upset at the way his team crashed out of the Champions League after two goals in the final four minutes saw Liverpool reach the semi-finals.
But Wenger has no doubt his young squad have the quality to bounce back and feels it would be an injustice if they fail to challenge for major silverware next year.
Wenger said: "I think the big core of the team is ready to come back and fight. I think all of them are determined to come back and win.
"I feel they have created something special and not to take advantage of that would be criminal for me.
"At the moment the vibe coming out of the club is like we are going to implode but it is not like that at all.
"It is very stable and we are in a very good financial situation, we have a good team and good players. You have to let people talk, then come back and win. I will be a busy man [this summer] but I am not worried.
"Like every big disappointment you have in life, you go through a period where you have to swallow, digest it and think where do I go from here?"

Yes I completely agree with him. It's a shame that once again Man U walked it-they need to feel the heat for once. Arsenal are doing great right now-let's hope that next year brings them some of what they deserve to see.
