Harrison fails to regain licence

Former lightweight world champion Scott Harrison has failed in his bid to regain his boxing license. The 30-year-old Scot had his licence revoked in 2006 after being found guilty of bringing the sport into disrepute and has not fought since November 2005.

The British Boxing Board of Control continued the Scot's suspension until the end of the year after he appeared before a tribunal in Cardiff.

The onetime WBO featherweight title holder has suffered from depression and alcohol problems and was declared bankrupt last July.
