Nedved says no to Czech return
Pavel Nedved has rejected an invitation from Czech Republic coach Karel Bruckner to come out of international retirement ahead of this summer's European Championships. Bruckner has named a 23-man squad to take part in a pre-tournament training camp, but confirmed that the Juventus winger had declined the opportunity to be part of the group.
"I spoke to him for the last time yesterday, but it is still the same. He will not be in the team," Bruckner said. "He has never suggested anything else, so he only confirmed his decision."
With Arsenal's Tomas Rosicky out injured, it had been hoped that former European Footballer of the Year Nedved would go back on his decision.
Bruckner confirmed he still plans to make changes to the group named on Wednesday, which includes the likes of Milan Baros, Petr Cech and Marek Matejovsky.
