Laudrup opens City door

Michael Laudrup, reportedly a contender to take over from Sven-Goran Eriksson at Manchester City, has confirmed he is looking to leave current club Getafe.

The Danish former Barcelona and Real Madrid midfielder led the Madrid-based minnows to the UEFA Cup quarter-finals this year and has been linked with Chelsea.

He has since been tipped to join the Eastlands club Luiz Felipe Scolari rejects Thaksin Shinawatra's advances and Laudrup's agent has confirmed he is open to offers.

"There is interest in him from England, Portugal and Russia," said Bayram Tutumlu.

"I do not speak of Chelsea, but of others. His cycle with Getafe is finished."
