Aberdeen closing in on Foran
Aberdeen are poised to sign Southend midfielder Ritchie Foran after agreeing a deal with the Essex club. Foran, who signed for the League One side for £200,000 in January 2007, has failed to settle at Roots Hall and is keen to move back to Scotland where he enjoyed a successful spell with Motherwell.
The 27-year-old, who spent part of last season on loan at League Two Darlington, is expected to agree personal terms with the SPL club in the next few days.
And Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood is hoping Foran can rediscover his form from his last spell in Scotland, when he scored 23 goals in 90 league appearances at a higher level.
