Fee of £23.5m slapped on Arsenal target Veloso
Sporting Lisbon have slapped a £23.5m fee on Arsenal target Miguel Veloso. The Gunners have been tracking the 22-year-old defensive midfielder as a possible replacement for Mathieu Flamini, but Sporting are keen to create a bidding war with 17 clubs across Europe having made an enquiry.
AC Milan, Juventus and Liverpool have also been linked with Veloso and his Portuguese club are now determined to get at least 30m euros.
Portugal international Veloso is yet to make a decision on his future, however, and said: "Sporting are a great club who are in the Champions League."
According to sources at Sporting, no deal will be done until the European Championships have finished.
