Miller closing in on Rangers move
Derby striker Kenny Miller is expected to complete his £2million move to Rangers next week -despite fierce opposition from the club's fans. Miller, who previously played for Old Firm rivals Celtic, will leave Pride Park to join up with former Scotland boss Walter Smith.
Rangers supporters have been outspoken in their criticism of Smith's plan to take Miller to Ibrox, voicing their disgust during the recent Scottish FA Cup final win over Queen of the South.
But that has failed to persuade Smith to abandon his transfer plans with Derby chairman Adam Pearson revealing the deal is close to completion.
"The two clubs have agreed a deal and we are reasonably happy with the package, so it is now down to Kenny to sort things out with Rangers," Pearson told the Scottish Daily Express.
"I don't envisage any problems because Kenny is keen to go to Rangers and Rangers are keen to sign him.
"We have had one firm offer and three serious enquiries about signing him but Kenny told us he wasn't interested because he wants to go to Rangers."
