Chelsea told: Aguero's not for sale
Chelsea have been told that Atletico Madrid forward Sergio Agüero is not for sale. The west London club were reported to be preparing to smash the British transfer record by matching the 19-year-old's £43m release clause but Atletico insist the Argentine striker is happy in Spain.
Atletico president Don Enrique Cerezo said: "There are several teams interested in Agüero, but the player is not for sale.
"He's fundamental to the team's plans. He doesn't want to leave and we don't want him to go.
"We're working hard to put together a good team. We're doing the sums to try and buy the best players at the best price.
"What I can assure you is that any player that comes will be of international level, proven and important for the team."

It surprises me that they are not willing to let him go for that amount of money. There have been several refusals of large buy out offers this year so far, and I have to wonder why it is.
