Donadoni not worried by Holland
Italy coach Roberto Donadoni insists he has no concerns over Holland's decision to rest players for their clash with Romania and says he still expects Marco Van Basten's men to win. Donadoni, whose own side must overcome France in Zurich to qualify, need Holland to take at least a point if the world champions are to qualify for the last eight.
A win for Romania would see France and Italy knocked out, but Donadoni does not expect an already qualified Dutch side to ease off on Tuesday night.
"Holland coach Marco van Basten is an honest, competent and upstanding man. I have confidence in him," said Donadoni.
"I'm not even thinking about that (Holland allowing Romania to win) happening.
"I believe in honesty and openness. Even if the reserve team plays, that's not to say the Dutch won't win. On the contrary, the reserves would love to show that they deserve a place in the first team."
Italy, who were beaten 3-0 by Holland in their opening game before being held to a 1-1 draw by Romania, must beat France to stand any chance of progressing to the next stage with victory for either side likely to be enough to seal a quarter-final tie.
"We have to beat France," said Donadoni. "It is a crucial match because when one still has a chance to qualify you have to push yourself to the limit.
"I saw at training the players are determined to prove how good they are against the French.
"They have a real hunger to prepare in the best possible manner for this challenge, which will dictate whether or not we progress."
