Riise joins Roma
Liverpool's long-serving defender John Arne Riise has joined AS Roma for £4m. The Norwegian left-back was on the fringes of the first-team last term after losing his spot to Fabio Aurelio, and his last act of significance at Anfield was the last-minute own-goal that helped propel Chelsea to victory in their Champions League semi-final.
And Roma have announced they have agreed a deal for the 27-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Monaco seven years ago.
"AS Roma announce they have reached an agreement with Liverpool Football Club for the acquisition of the sporting rights of the player John Arne Riise with effect from July 1 2008," Roma confirmed on the club's official website.
Riise has signed a four-year deal, keeping him in the Italian capital until 2012.
