Ronaldo: I won't explain Madrid choice to Ferguson

Cristiano Ronaldo has told Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson he will not explain his apparent decision to force through a move to Real Madrid. The winger, who scored 42 goals for the club as they won the Premier and Champions League last term, is seemingly set on a move to Spain.

And after Portugal were knocked out of Euro 2008 he has gone public on the move, saying he doesn't care if he upsets Ferguson and admitting his national team boss, Luiz Felipe Scolari, the incoming Chelsea manager, has told him to make the move.

"I don't know what I have to say to him (Ferguson)," Ronaldo said. "I have to say what I want and what I think.

"It is my opinion. That is why I don't mind if people get upset. It is my decision. It is what I want."

"For me it is a great opportunity and, as Scolari says, that train passes by only once and we have to take advantage of it" said Ronaldo.
