Bolton sign Swede Elmander

Bolton have signed Swedish international Johan Elmander on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee, it has been announced. The former Toulouse striker started in two of his country's games at Euro 2008 and is the second big-money signing boss Gary Megson has made in recent days, following the £5m addition of Fabrice Muamba from Birmingham.

And Megson was delighted to have got his man, revealing he had been chasing the 27-year-old for some time.

"Johan is a player I have admired for a long time," he told the club's official website.

"He's a player who will get us goals and also create other opportunities for his team-mates.

"I am still on the look out for other players to boost the quality of our squad."
