Cipriani sets target of a November return
Wasps and England No10 Daniel Cipriani, who missed out on his club side's Guinness Premiership victory over Leicester and England recent two-Test tour to New Zealand after sustaining an horrific ankle injury at the back end of last season, has set his sights on a return to action in Novemeber.
The 20-year-old wunderkind suffered a horrific fracture and dislocation of his right ankle in his side's Premiership semi-final win against Bath in May and following surgery is battling back to fitness.
Initial reports suggested that Cipriani would be sidelined for a year but he is now confident of returning to club colours in late November.
He said: "Wasps and England have been very good - they just want to make sure I'm 100 per cent.
"I'm not setting myself an exact game, but late November would be a good comeback for me from the injury.
"I don't want to do things by halves, I want to be fully fit and ready to go.
"Hopefully I will have time to put my place down and make the England team."
Cipriani is due to have his cast removed on Monday and so will soon learn how successful his rehabilitation has been.
He added: "I'm getting it off on Monday and I just can't wait because I'll be in a boot that will be partially weight bearing and I can't wait to be walking.
"I have the boot on for two weeks and from the first few weeks you know how quickly it's going to go."
