John Skandalis, Huddersfield Giants' veteran forwardis expected to miss the remainder of the Super League season after having to undergo surgery on his knee, which he injured in training. The 32-year-old former Wests Tigers prop joins fellow front rower Eorl Crabtree on the sidelines.
Crabtree will be out for up to a month with a fractured finger sustained in Sunday's 46-16 at St Helens.
Joint caretaker coach Keiron Purtill said of Skandalis' injury: "It really isn't looking very good for John.
"We're waiting for the specialist to get back to us so we know exactly how much damage there is but he has already been told it's highly unlikely he'll play again this season."
