Anderson confident Saints will go marching on
St Helens coach Daniel Anderson is confident his side will avoid any dips in form between now and the end of the Super League season. Saints play Harlequins this weekend looking for the 13th consecutive victory in all competitions and Anderson says he cannot see his side faltering as they aim for the Super League title.
He said: "Although there is a long way to go in the season, I don't think our form will change drastically from here.
"I don't believe that we will go too far backwards as far as form is concerned."
Unlike a host of teams around them, Saints do not have a particularly long injury list and Anderson believes this could be an important factor.
He added: "Ultimately it all depends on players and on that front things are looking good.
"We will get Chris Flannery back within the next fortnight, Jason Cayless is still touch and go for the Challenge Cup semi final and Nick Fozzard is six or seven weeks away from possibly playing.
"It will be a real boost to get some seasoned campaigners back into our squad, which means we can then rotate and rest some of the boys who have played beyond what we had expected them to do.
"In addition to that trio, the boys who are currently out at Widnes will have completed their month on loan so if needed they could be recalled back at any stage after that.
"It puts us in a good position and hopefully it will stay that way."
