Heidfeld targets Hockenheim glory
Nick Heidfeld has set his sights on giving his home crowd something to shout about when he goes all out for victory at the German Grand Prix on July 20.The BMW Sauber driver, who has been testing at Hockenheim this week, finished second at Silverstone last Sunday and is now eyeing up yet more championship points.
Heidfeld is yet to taste victory in 143 races but with BMW Sauber enjoying an impressive season, the German is hoping to clinch his maiden win in front of his adoring fans.
"It gives me an extra push to go into my home GP on the back of a podium finish in the last race," he told autosport.com.
"I want to keep heading in the same direction - get a good position on the grid and do as well as possible in the race itself.
"I'm really looking forward to what is BMW's home grand prix as well as mine personally. Plus, Hockenheim always attracts a particularly large number of fans from Switzerland as well, and I'm determined to put on a great performance for them."
