Moyes closing in Sporting star
Everton are hoping to tie up a deal to sign Sporting Lisbon keeper Vladimir Stojkovic. David Moyes is keen to sign another keeper having let Stefan Wessels leave the club at the end of last season.
Stojkovic has fallen out of favour with Sporting coach Paulo Bento and would be interested in a move to England. He has also been linked with Stoke and Birmingham.
The Serbia international only joined the Portuguese club last summer, but Sporting are prepared to discuss a deal for the 24-year-old.
Reports in Portugal say that Everton have already made an offer and Stojkovic will meet up with the Sporting Lisbon board to discuss his future.
Stojkovic said: "I will not rule out the possibility of going to England. To find out the truth it would be best to speak with my club."
The only setback for Moyes is that Stojkovic will not join up with the Everton squad until the end of August as he will be captaining his country at the Olympics next month.
