Arsenal lower Adebayor asking price - agent
Arsenal have backed down on their valuation of Emmanuel Adebayor and are now prepared to sell the Togolese striker for just over half the initial amount of £35m that was quoted to interested parties, according to an agent working for Italian club AC Milan. The 24-year-old's wage demands are said to be forcing him out of the London club.
AC Milan and Spanish side Barcelona are leading the chase, although it seems unlikely either would pay £35 for a player who scored 30 goals in all competitions last season.
And according to Vincenzo Morabito, who is working with AC Milan on the deal, Arsenal have accepted they will not sell at that price and will accept substantially less for the former Monaco man.
"We're working to make the deal easier," Morabito told Italian radio station Antenna3.
"We're arriving at more reasonable figures. They're still a lot, but much less than the 45m euros that were initially asked for.
"A bit more than half. More than that of Samuel Eto'o and Didier Drogba but they are a little bit older."
