Coral Expands with Betradar's Virtual Sports Betting

Top bookmaker Coral Sports is plugging into the world of virtual sports betting thanks to a brand new partnership with Betradar, a subsidiary of global sports data company Sportradar. The new deal will see Coral expand its online and mobile virtual sports offering, which will now include tennis, basketball, horse and dog racing.

Betradar’s innovative content further builds on existing virtual sports football games, by adding different modes and tournaments, including Football League, Tournament Mode and Euro Cup Mode. Speaking about the exciting new partnership, Coral Sports director Keith O’Loughlin said:

"Betradar have really impressed us with their rapid growth and continuing innovation across their suite of virtual products, while at the same time remaining fully focused on ensuring the most realistic user experience possible. We are excited to now be able to offer this to our customers."

What are Virtual Sports?

Virtual sports are realistic computer simulations of real-life sports, the results of which are calculated by complex algorithms. These use huge amounts of data from previous meetings, matches and races – gathered for online betting sites by companies such as Sportradar – to deliver an entertaining event that punters can bet on as the action unfolds.

There’s a randomiser in place so that the system can’t be abused in the bookmaker’s favour, just as with any virtual game or online slot. The advantage of virtual sports is that they can run during an off season, or at times of the day when the real-life counterpart sports aren’t going on. This way, punters don’t have to wait until match day to place a bet and sports bookmakers can generate more revenue.

Online sports betting, as a result, has become a much more convenient enterprise, while still offering the huge array of betting options punters find for real-life sporting events. As yet, virtual sports don’t feature the likeness of real players. Betradar Competes with Inspired for Supremacy

The deal with Betradar is not Coral’s first foray into the world of virtual sports. The bookmaker already has a number of virtual sports betting opportunities on offer from Inspired Gaming Group. As well as the sports covered by their rival, Inspired has been making progress in the virtual sports field with additions such as speedway, motor racing, cycling and cricket.

Keeping pace with the latest trend, Betradar is quickly gaining on its competitor in two key areas – realism and graphics. The realism comes with the wealth of data that Betradar has access to thanks to its parent company. Scores and play will for the most part be predicated on past players or teams and the statistics they’ve generated. The visuals of Betradar’s many titles excel, with lifelike, flowing animation, and cinematic camera angles that truly deliver an immersive virtual experience.

Where Else Can You Bet on Virtual Sports?

While Coral is vying to be the bookmaker of choice for those interested in virtual sports betting, they’re not the only well-known brand offering the service. High street rival William Hill offers a number of sports through its Virtual World, which includes European football, horse racing, speedway and cycling.

Likewise, Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has a dedicated Virtual Sports Centre where these events can be enjoyed 24/7. Another of Coral’s competitors, bet365, has a similar selection of games to that of William Hill, all managed under its Virtual Sports tab. With seven categories in all, punters will never be lacking in bets to place, though it’s worth noting that the graphics and animation are not as impressive.
