Euro 2016 Weekly Bonus: NetBet Easing Stress with Quarter-Final Offers

Euro 2016 has been quite low on the goal-scoring front, with under 2.5 goals being one of the safest bets. Generally, the defences have been tough to break down – even for the stronger teams. In week four’s quarter-final matches, the teams might only become more dogged. Fortunately, there are some helpful bonuses to claim this week.

Week Four Bonus Roundup

Penalty shootouts are easily the cruellest aspect of the knockout stages, with superb footballing spectacles being decided ruthlessly from the spot.

At Bet365 Sports, however, players can find solace by opting into the Penalty Payback promotion. For any players who back an outright tournament winner, the bet will be refunded if their team is eliminated on penalties.

At Paddy Power Sports, the sportsbook will continue its tournament offer during week four. Paddy Power will pick one game where players can stake £20 on a team to win, receiving a £5 free bet for every goal scored by their team.

Then comes Ladbrokes’ money back special for any UK or Irish teams that make it to the quarter-finals. By entering, players can get a free £25 bet if their team draws in 90 minutes. Players will be eligible if they have backed losing correct scores, half-time/full-time or first goal-scorer bets.

NetBet’s Cash-Out Celebration

NetBet has launched a new promotion to celebrate the introduction of a new cash-out feature, which is ideal for guarding against late goals. Right now, players can claim a 20% bonus on deposit up to £50. To ensure eligibility, players can enter the code “CASHOUT50" when depositing with the cashier. After claiming the funds, players will have up to 60 days to use them.

Go Mobile with NetBet

Current NetBet players will be rewarded with a £10 bonus for placing their first mobile bet. All they have to do is opt in with their smartphone or tablet and stake £10 on a bet with qualifying odds of 1.60 or higher. This offer is open to all players who are yet to place a mobile bet with their account.

Euro 2016 Lacking in Goals

After the first two weeks, Euro 2016 teams had combined to score 47 goals in 24 games. At Euro 2012, the same timeframe saw 46 goals scored in just 16 games – this represents a decline from 2.88 goals a game to just 1.96. Another key finding from the first two rounds of games is that 16 of the 46 goals came in the last 15 minutes.

Thus far, players have been rewarded for backing under 2.5 goals, with 17 of the 24 games featuring fewer than three goals. For the final rounds, though, players might need to think more carefully about their betting strategies.

Germany’s head coach, Joachim Löw, offered the following explanation for the low-scoring group stages:

"Teams are simply more defensive at this stage of the competition and there is a fear of losing. Once you get into the knockout stage, that's replaced by a desire to win."

The numbers, however, would suggest a different story. At Euro 2012, under 2.5 goals would have been a winning bet in four of the seven knockout games. So, the quarter-finals might actually turn out to be low-scoring like the group games. With Euro 2016 lacking a dominant team, it could work out best to bet on goal-scoring markets.
