The 5 Best Casinos to Spend Your Super Bowl Sunday

The 5 Best Casinos to Spend Your Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Sunday is an American pastime, as almost every in the country makes plans to watch the big game. While parties and get-togethers are fun, and you can certainly have some action with an online bookmaker, the atmosphere inside a casino or sportsbook is electric.

Almost everyone has some money on the line – be it on the spread or props – and that makes for boisterous cheering after every single play.

If you’re thinking of spending your Super Bowl at a casino, here are the five best places to do it in the United States.

  1. MGM Springfield | Springfield, Massachusetts

    MGM Springfield

One of the newest casinos in the country is one of the coolest to spend a Super Bowl. Similar to the MGM National Harbor in Washington D.C., this casino is stocked with a TAP Sports Bar, which is a modern sports bar with an enormous selection of beers on tap.

While a lot of non-Las Vegas casinos are crusty and dusty, this is a swanky new spot to take in the big game.

  2. Where To Eat: Cal Mare

If you’re looking for an epic pre- or post-Super Bowl, Michael Mina’s Cal Mare is the ideal setting. Mina has earned two Michelin stars in each of his namesake restaurants in San Francisco and Las Vegas.

Housed inside the MGM Springfield, this restaurant is a fusion of Italian with the classic New England flavors.

  3. Borgata | Atlantic City

    Borgata

The Borgata has always been a classic in Atlantic City. Now that the area is recovering, it’s once again a hopping place for big events.

Their sportsbook features 100 seats with individual flat screens, so you don’t have to look far to see the game. They’ll also have big screens above on the wall.

One aspect that might appeal to some is the fact that it’s non-smoking. Of course, most casinos – especially in Vegas – are friendly to smokers.

  4. Where To Eat: Bobby Flay Steak

One of Food Network’s most familiar faces has a joint in the Borgata. It’s a twist on a traditional steakhouse, as you’ll see a lot of seafood on the menu, including a Lobster Bar, which is a unique feature.

  5. MGM National Harbor | Oxon Hill, Maryland

    MGM National Harbor

If you’re in the Washington, D.C. area, the MGM National Harbor – which has taken over as the top casino in the area – is the place to be.

There are a number of spots to watch the big game, whether it’s in one of the sleek cocktail bars, the casino floor or TAP Sports Bar. Of course, TAP will offer the most vibrant environment. With 95 flat screen TV’s and an endless array of beers on tap, you can’t go wrong.

Where To Eat: Fish by Jose Andres

Fish is a gorgeous restaurant from acclaimed Spanish chef Jose Andres. As you can imagine, seafood is the name of the game here. There are a number of unique aspects of this restaurant, from the various fresh oyster tanks to the live sea urchin to the seafood bar.

  6. Lagasse’s Stadium | Inside The Palazzo, Las Vegas

    The Palazzo

Emeril Lagasse is not only a star chef, he’s a tailgating pro who loves sports. Hence how he and the Palazzo partnered for Lagasse’s Stadium. While you can still bet there, it’s separated from the casino.

There are more than 100 screens, couches and, typically, a lot of hardcore sports fans. The vibe is usually a lot of fun here for big events.

    Where To Eat: Carnevino

While you might think about eating at Lagasse’s Stadium, typically the mediocre reviews it receives online are for the food. It’s an OK place to eat, but you’re better off sticking with drinks and sports.

For a more memorable experience, visit Carnevino, which is a steakhouse in The Venetian. Hands down, it’s one of the best places to sink your teeth into some red meat in Vegas.

  7. Caesar’s Palace | Las Vegas

    Caesar’s Palace

Many people love the Westgate but it’s slightly off the beaten path. Nowadays, the heart of The Strip is around City Center, so walking an hour (it’s a 35-minute walk from the Wynn) or having to Uber around can be a turn off.

On The Strip, Caesar’s Palace is a great spot. CNN Travel rates it as the best casino in Las Vegas, and it’s easy to see why. Grab one of the 140 seats and look up at one of the 12 50-inch plasmas or six oversized 12x15 screens. There are usually big crowds, which adds to the energy of the event.

    Where To Eat: Nobu

Once you’ve won your Super Bowl bets, head over to Nobu to put your winnings to work. Indulge in some of the best Asian and Japanese food one can find at this elegant venue. From imported fish from Japan to the rarest of sakes, no detail is overlooked.
