Sor Rungvisai vs Estrada Betting Tips, Odds and Best Bets
They say nobody cares about flyweights, and maybe it’s mostly true. But Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Juan Francisco Estrada are two of the very best fighters in the world. Anytime boxers as skilled as these two enter the ring together, the boxing betting world is sure to take notice.
These guys are technically super flyweights anyway. In fact, Sor Rungvisai’s WBC and The Ring magazine super flyweight belts will be on the line in the bout on April 26 at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Sor Rungvisai, whose real name is Wisaksil Wangek, is the slight favorite per boxing’s best online bookmakers at 2/3 to again defeat Estrada in one of the most hotly anticipated rematches in boxing. Sor Rungvisai defeated Estrada by majority decision in February 2018, but some think the second fight might go the other way. 888Sport will let you back the underdog, Estrada, at 6/5.
Sor Rungvisai-Estrada Betting Tips
Sor Rungvisai (47-4-1, 41 KOs) is an excellent fighter, but his greatest assets are his power and style. Pressure-fighting southpaws are a rarity in the sport, and Sor Rungvisai carries more power in his fists than just about any fighter in his division.
In fact, it might be argued the 32-year-old has the biggest single-punch advantage over any other fighter in any single weight class.
In short, super flyweights aren’t supposed to hit this hard, and that kind of power is the main reason or Rungvisai can get outboxed and still pull of decision wins over top competition. That’s essentially what happened in the first fight last year at the same venue at least in the second half of the fight.
Estrada (38-3, 26 KOs) is a brilliant counterpuncher who possesses supreme footwork. But where Estrada failed in the first fight is that he did not throw enough punches early to make up for the marked difference in power.
Ultimately, Estrada’s landed punches paled in comparison to the thudding blows of Sor Rungvisai. While Estrada’s defense was better as the fight progressed, he was moved back by Sor Rungvisai’s power too many times early the fight.
The rematch will come down to how many more punches Estrada can throw and land this time without getting caught in return. Estrada is the more technically sound fighter. He’s also the one who should be able to make the most adjustments the second time around.

Sor Rungvisai-Estrada Best Bets
Sor Rungvisai is one of the better stories in all of boxing. He used his talent to climb his way out of abject poverty, even picking food out of the trash to feed himself on the way up the rankings.
But Estrada has all the situational advantages heading into the second fight. After all, the 29-year-old Mexican has long been considered one of the best fighters in boxing without a signature win over his main rival and is due for a big win.
That main rival used to be Roman Gonzalez. But when Sor Rungvisai dethroned Gonzalez and had the audacity to beat Estrada the next year, Gonzalez became Estrada’s new White Whale.
Estrada almost pulled it off last time. While the judges favored Sor Rungvisai’s harder punches, it was Estrada who seemed to get the better of the action in the majority of the later rounds. For the rematch, he’ll likely have more of Sor Rungvisai’s clunky style figured out early.
Betting Estrada by any method at 6/5 with 888Sport is the value play. With such close odds, it makes more sense to back the slight underdog by any method at a good price than it does to try pinpointing the method or round.
But more risk equals greater reward, so if that kind of thing suits your fancy, back Estrada on points at 9/4. Both fighters are tough as nails so the fight is likely to go the distance with Estrada’s more precise blows carrying the day. Backing the draw at 18/1 is also worth a look as a hedge.
