Gambling.com Partners Headline 2016 Gaming Intelligence Awards Nominations

Industry behemoth Gaming Intelligence has announced the shortlists for its prestigious annual awards – with a number of operators partnered with Gambling.com featured throughout the category nominations. Bet365 and Coral currently lead the way at two nominations each while software developer Playtech is also in the running for three gongs at the Gaming Intelligence Awards, where individual categories including sports betting, casino gaming, poker and bingo are eagerly contested.

The Editor in Chief at Gaming Intelligence, Bobby Mamudi, discussed the impartial, unbiased ethos behind the awards in his speech at the ceremony last year:

“We have built our reputation on the integrity of our editorial products and the GIAs follow the same policy. The industry demanded an end to cronyism and we have delivered just that.”

Coral Expects Big Year

Coral Sports will be looking to pick up the 'Sports Betting Operator of the Year' award, although they will face stiff competition from the likes of defending champion Bet365 Sports, Betfair Sports, and Paddy Power Sports. Coral Bingo will be hoping for success in the 'Bingo Operator of the Year' bracket too, where they will compete with Intertain, Rank Group, Stride Gaming and Tombola for honours.

Poker King

It is anticipated that 888 Poker and Bet365 Poker will battle it out for the 'Poker Operator of the Year' award, with Full Tilt and PokerStars making up the rest of the nods.

Casino Clash

One of the most celebrated trophies of the night will be 'Casino Operator of the Year'; where Leo Vegas will lock horns with Betfair Casino, ComeOn! Casino and 32Red Casino.

Colossal DFS Match- Up

Meanwhile, DraftKings and FanDuel will do battle in the 'Fantasy Sports Operator of the Year' category, while Michigan Lottery, Norsk Tipping, The UK National Lottery, Tatts and Veikkaus will duke it out for the 'Lottery Operator of the Year' prize.

Supply and Demand

Of course, the success of these operator brands wouldn't be possible without rock-solid back-end support and quality software, so it's only right that the industry-leading software developers and suppliers out there will also have their chance to shine at the awards.

The 'Supplier of the Year' awards cover all of the main categories including sports betting, casino, bingo and poker, with Playtech leading the way with a hat-trick of nominations – closely followed by Microgaming and Scientific Games with two apiece.

Playtech are nominated in the bingo, casino and poker brackets, with Scientific Games looking to retain their 'Lottery Supplier of the Year' crown while challenging in the casino category. Microgaming will be hoping for a glittering evening at the ceremony, which will be held at London’s ExCel Centre this week, with nods in the 'Bingo Supplier of the Year' and 'Poker Supplier of the Year' nominations.

The two final awards, the 'One to Watch' and 'Socially Responsible Operator of the Year', aren’t picked from a shortlist as with all of the other gongs, but instead handed to the companies that stood out for all the right reasons in 2015. Leander Games and Bet365 were the respective winners at last year’s ceremony.

What to Watch For

The Gaming Intelligence Awards winners will be announced and the trophies presented as part of the ICE Totally Gaming expo, which runs from February 2-4. This event will also see the Gaming Intelligence Hot 50 revealed, and this looks at the brightest and most influential individuals that are set to change the iGaming landscape in 2016 and beyond.
