SportNation is an exciting new sportsbook that has entered the market back in 2017. They are a part of the growing Argyll Entertainment AG group who own several other sports betting sites in the industry.
We think it's fair to say that SportNation is the company's biggest brand to date and with it have enjoyed some short-term success. The site has continued to grow over the last few years and the SB Tech platform that it currently sits on has been tweaked to get it up to the standard that SportNation is striving for.
What's been most impressive about the rebrand is that they are already picking up industry-related awards. Their first (likely of many) came about at the 2018 EGR awards, where they picked up the Innovative Operator of the Year award.
They've also taken an active role in terms of sponsorship and are the official betting partners of Solihull Moors FC.

Signing up for a new account with SportNation will allow you to take advantage of their brilliant welcome bonus. The bonus is a 100% deposit bonus up to $100.
There is a 6x turnover at minimum odds of 1.6 before withdrawal. Your bonus expires after 30 days.
There's an orange “Join” button in the top right-hand corner of the SportNation website. You start by entering your personal information, which includes name, DOB and email address.
The second page is where you enter your contact info. Please note to make sure you include your correct address as you will need to verify this to your account to make a deposit.
Third and final stage for this process is the account info. Here you enter a username and password, plus set any daily account limits you need.
Once all this is done, you will need to look to verify your account before you can start betting. There's a couple of ways that you can do this and one that we've not seen before is by linking your Facebook account to your betting account.
Alternatively, you can just send in your documents, which should include passport, driver's license or ID card, and also proof of address, usually in the form of a utility bill. It may take a few hours to process the verification, but we found that they were prompt in doing so and the Facebook process is instant assuming your details match.
There's not a huge range of deposit options on SportNation. Visa and Mastercard are available as you'd expect, but ecoPayz, Interac, paysafecard and MuchBetter are also available.
Deposits on-site start from just C$10 and then withdrawal start from C$20.
When we processed our withdrawal there were no fees to pay but the site does state that if you process lots of withdrawals in a short period, then you may be charged. However, they will inform you before processing the withdrawal if this is the case. Withdrawals are processed within 48 hours.
As we've mentioned before, this is an SB Tech platform that SportNation are using, so to us, it's fairly familiar. To those who are new, then you can expect a really solid desktop experience and one that is very much tried and tested.
Argyll Entertainment uses this on all of their sportsbooks, but SportNation's is a little different. It feels a little more polished than the others, and they've some cool graphics, a slightly different font and a more sport-orientated layout, which creates a really strong package.
The only downside that we've come across is the loading screen that jumps up when you go between sports. Once you're in the sport, there is no loading at all and even though this takes just a couple of seconds, it does detract a little from the overall experience.
There is no dedicated app, but the mobile site can be accessed on any smartphone. It's an HTML5 platform, which means that it works on all screen sizes. Once the browser bar disappears from the top, you'd be hard-pressed to know if you were on an app or on a webpage, which is a good thing.
You have a great range of sports on offer at the bookmaker and it's one the strengths of how they function. What we liked is that they were able to provide the usual range for the bigger sports, such as football, horse racing, golf and tennis, but then also a good range for slightly smaller sports as well. Novelties, table tennis, badminton and e-sports can all be backed here too.
For those that don't know, RedZone Sports is a sister site of SportNation, and they are one of the best when it comes to betting coverage of US-based sports. SportNation have tapped into this and they also offer a great range of American football, basketball and baseball markets that can compete (or even beat) with any of the bigger brands in the industry.
Pricing is good on the whole. If we were to be hypercritical here, we would say that they struggle a little with consistency. By this, we mean that they can have markets where they are right up with the best price in the industry and then some that are a little below par.
Given they are still quite young, we would say that their pricing structure is better than expected.
The first thing that jumped out at us on the site was the enhanced odds that were on offer. This is a section that is updated throughout the day and they often are linked to markets that might be trending or in the news.
For example, at the time of writing there was a lot of speculation about certain Premier League managers to be getting the sack, so there were plenty of markets with boosted prices for people to replace them. It's pretty heavy with football betting here, so other sports are a little few and far between. If you're a football punter though, then it's ideal!
Horse racing plays a big part on pretty much all online betting sites these days and SportNation is no different. The racecard's offer a good amount of detail and include info such as form, weight, age and even the previous odds. The latter is a nice addition as it allows you to see if horses are drifting or shortening in price.
The in-play betting section is another hive of activity and it's here where most people spend the majority of their time. One of the key features here is the favourites bar, where you can select games initially to land at the top of the page. Also, you can select markets once in those games to again, present themselves at the top of the page. Given how hectic this section of the bookmaker can become, this was a welcomed feature.
Cash-out betting is now a staple at the bookmaker. It's linked into the bet slip and it quickly highlights the price that's on offer for your bet. It's worth noting that these are processed instantly, so once you take the price it then gets applied to your account.
Finally, we wanted to include the VIP program on offer. You start earning reward points as soon as you register your account. The more you bet, the more points that you earn. Your points can then be exchanged in the SportNation Shop, for things like free bets up to C$500, casino bonuses up to C$500 and specials, such as tickets to sporting events.
One thing that SportNation do as well as anyone is promotions. The site is full of them and here's a list of some of our favourite ongoing offers.
Pick A Pony – Pick A Pony runs every day and with it, you need to choose the winner from a head to head battle between two horses running that day. The more that you get right, the more points you win and then can use in the SportNation store.
Best Odds Guaranteed – If you place a bet on a horse and that horse wins with a higher Starting Price than the price you took, they will payout at the higher price. Selected races only.
10x Reward Points – For selected markets, you will get a 10x multiplier applied on your rewards points for each bet that you place.
Customer support is good and the time it takes to get a response is also not too bad. The team are knowledgeable, and they also offer a strong FAQ section on-site as well. Live Chat is available from noon to 10pm or they can be reached by email.
You won't be able to deposit on site until you have been able to verify your account. This is a common process with most bookies now, but it's still good to see from SportNation.
Outside of this, they offer several features that all help with responsible gambling, including timeout, reality checks and log in data. This means that you can either customise how much you can play on the site or you can have the bookmaker flag you when you've been on too long. Deposit and betting limits are included in this as well.
There's no doubt that SportNation is the strongest arm of the Argyll Entertainment AG group. The bookmaker is one that is going places, and quickly. They offer everything that you would expect from one of the bigger brands in the industry and they also go above and beyond when it comes to promotions, including with their welcome offer. They aren't perfect, with fees coming in for withdrawals if you process too many transactions, but this is manageable for most.
Overall, a great effort and we are excited to see how they progress over the next few months/years.
