The Genting brand has been about since 1965. The company have initially made their mark in the hospitality and plantations sector, turning over close to £1.3 billion each year.
The move to the gambling sector came about in 2004, purchasing a series of high-end brick and mortar casinos in London. Their expansion didn't stop there though and with over 40 casinos throughout the UK, the company are now one of the top online casino brands in the world.
It wasn't until a shift to online gaming came about that the first drafts of the sportsbook cropped up. The launch of GentingBet was initially met with mixed opinions from several reviews, but a series of changes both for the sportsbook in terms of functionality and also personnel within the company, has seen massive improvements made over the last 12+ months.
Genting has always been keen to offer something back to the sector they are working in and sports betting is no different. In 2019 they announced that they would become official sponsors of Dundalk FC, an Irish football team. They chose the team because of a “perfect fit” of the morals, drive and passion for their respected industries, a keen foundation for Genting's success.

|Loads of promotions and great welcome offer||Mobile interface could be easier to use|
|Solid pricing structure|
When registering a new account with Genting you're going to be able to get a risk free first bet worth up to £10. The welcome offer works based on the opening bet that you make and if it does not win, they will refund your stake up to £10.
The initial bet that you make needs to be at odds of 2.00 or greater (1.4 or greater for each bet if placing a multiple) and then if that bet loses, you will get a free bet worth the same amount up to £10.
Free bets will hit your account within 24 hours and they then must be used within 14 days before they expire. Any winnings from the free bet you can keep as cash and you will not get the stake returned with this. Any bets that are cashed out will not qualify and free bets must be placed on singles only.
The registration process is one that is simple and quick. It should take no longer than a couple of minutes before you can log in and start betting. This is much improved from previous versions of the bookmaker.
The opening section will ask you for the usual sort of details. This includes name, address, DOB, username, password etc. Make sure that you take note of both your username and password here, as you will need them to log in for the next stage.
As you move through you will be asked to set a deposit limit. We were delighted to see this as it helps people keep a limit on their account (if needed) and highlights that Genting is working in their role with problem gambling.
Genting is an active member of GamStop, so they will check to see if your details are on the system or not. If they are, you can head straight in, but if not, you will need to send verification to activate your account. They ask for photo ID and utility/bank statement within the last 3 months.
This may seem a laborious task, but it's going to be a requirement from bookmakers in the not too distant future. We're delighted to see that Genting have the process up and running so early, as we would be a little concerned if it was missing.
It's worth noting, if you don't send documents right away you can still log in, you just can't deposit or place a bet.
The banking methods for Genting are limited. In fact, you can only use debit cards online. You can use your GentingPay card though, which links up to their brick and mortar casinos, meaning you can use just one account for both.
Minimum deposits start from £10 and the minimum withdrawal is also £10. Withdrawals will be processed within 3-4 business days, although may take longer to hit your bank. You must withdraw back to the card that you made your deposit with. If your card has expired or you no longer have access to it, then you need to contact customer support.
If you use GentingPay, obviously the process will be much faster, but deposit limits start from £50 and withdrawals start from £60. You will also need some sort of photo ID with you when using this card.
The updated desktop version of the bookmaker is one that's been massively improved. It looks like a place that is now worthy of the Genting tag and with it offers a brilliant platform for its punters.
The main thing that stood out to us was the ease that you can jump from sport to sport and then market to market. It has no search function, which is a shame, but it keeps a good list of menus down the left and when you use the back button on your browser, you are returned to the exact last page that you were previously on. This may sound obvious, but lots of bookies will ping you back to the homepage when you use this, which is frustrating, to say the least!
There's no downloadable app but given the site has been built on the popular HTML 5 platform, which means that its fluid with mobile and adjusts according to the screen that you are using.
Unfortunately, the mobile site is the first negative with the bookmaker. The whole process is just a little too clumsy and we found that it seems to have a mind of its own at times. It's overly sensitive when you don't want it to be and then unresponsive when you're trying to search through their markets. Given that they talk about a “mobile-first” strategy, it's a little disappointing.
There's a good range of sports to choose from at Genting, which seems to be increasing all the time. The site has strong links to football and horse racing, but that's not uncommon for UK-facing bookmakers.
Outside of this, sports are plentiful, but it was the American sports (American Football, Basketball and Baseball) that caught our attention, with a great range of betting markets included for each.
Depth of markets is pretty good, although not as big as we have seen. To give you an idea, most of the top-level football matches are getting around 100 or so markets, with some bookies able to provide almost double that.
While some niche sports are missing, you'll find everything you'd expect at Genting. Golf, tennis, cricket, rugby, boxing / MMA and motorsports can all be found here, among others.
The pricing structure at Genting is highly competitive. They hold up well against brands that are much more established and even offer a series of boosted odds throughout the week, taking them to around best price for that bet in the industry. We would like to see a little more consistency outside of football and horse racing, but aside from that, there's a lot to like here.
The first thing that jumps out at you on-site are the football coupons, which include a UK long list, Euro-elite, BTTS, match result and BTTS and Over/Under bets. If you're an accumulator fan, then this is the place to be!
We were also impressed by the betting blog that they have. Betting blogs are not particularly new or exclusive to Genting, but theirs is one of the best. It's predominantly made up of match previews and then it includes several tips for that game or race. Football is the main sport covered, but they do include other sports as well, depending on the time of year and what's taking place.
The in-play section has a simple vibe to it, but it's one that works well. There's lots going on, but it's starved a little in terms of features. There is no live match centre which was a little disappointing, but we did like the way that markets lit up when the odds were changing, which is handy if you're tracking a specific game.
The majority of markets are cash out friendly on-site and the process is slick. It links up to their betting slip and then you can easily see your price and then select to cash out or not.
Again, the horse racing section is quite simplistic and does lack from not having a dedicated guide attached. But the racecard's are great if you are new to the sport and allow you to easily breakdown a decent amount of information.
One of the best things about the Genting bookmaker is that they are able to offer a wide range of promotions for existing customers.
Saturday 3 pm club – Place an accumulator with 5 or more teams at £10 or more from the 3 pm football games on a Saturday and get a £5 football free bet. Minimum bet must be odds of 2.00 or higher (cumulative) and cashed out bets will not qualify.
Goals = Spins – Place a single bet of £10 or more on any 3 pm kick-off in the football and for each goal scored in the Premier League, Genting will give you a free spin at 10p per spin. Minimum odds of 1.80 for the single bet.
The customer support at Genting is excellent. In fact, it's one of the best features of the site. There is a range of ways to contact them. Live chat is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they of course offer email support and they even provide a call back service, which you can request on site.
We're pretty confident when we say that few are taking their role in responsible gambling as seriously as Getting. The second tab when registering an account was about account limits and the fact that you have to send ID (assuming not already on the GamStop system) to deposit and use the bookmaker is great to see.
They advertise that they are a part of the Be Gamble Aware group, Problem Gambling Support, GamStop and Play It Safe camping, again, which is a brilliant addition to the site. If you do have a problem you can quickly and easily limit your account based on deposits, amount wagered and even a cooling-off period.
The Genting bookmaker is a really solid addition to the industry. It's still quite new and you do notice that when you've tested as many bookmakers as we have, but if you were new, you'd be more than happy with what's on offer.
We're excited to see where Genting takes the sportsbook as they have a keen eye for excellence. It's not perfect just yet, with the usability on mobile being an issue, but these are things that are likely easily ironed out.
Overall, an impressive bookmaker that would benefit from a few finishing touches to get to the next level.Visit Genting Sports
