SBTech Launches Add2Bet Live Betting Tool But What is It?

Live betting changed the way gamblers bet online for sporting events. Now SBTech is shaking up the live betting system as well, with a new cutting edge tool called Add2Bet. Crafted with both players and casino operators in mind, Add2Bet should make live betting simpler and easier going forward.

What is the Add2Bet Live Betting Tool?

SBTech’s innovative new tool is all about allowing players to continue the flow of their bets uninterrupted, instead of having to place several bets in parallel. With Add2Bet, players can use the cash out value of an existing live bet and create a brand new double, treble or accumulator bet.

The new bet is then combined with the existing parts of the old bet, offering tailored control over player’s betting experience. It's designed to appeal to younger players who want their technology to be as smooth and as simple as possible.

Should it prove successful, it will also help SBTech increase their turnover, as well as drawing more operators to adopt it. Tom Light, SBTech senior vice president of business development, said about the product:

“Add2Bet is the latest example of a key sportsbook feature designed to benefit both players and betting operators and we believe it is the fastest and most ergonomic innovation produced by any betting solutions provider thus far. I look forward to presenting the product and discussing it in depth with our clients and contacts.”

Launch in Berlin

The new tool made its debut at the EiG Berlin Expo 2017 following an extensive testing phase by SBTech that included A/B testing, a series of focus groups and a live trial. Two hundred plays were used as part of the sample group, with 50 of those playing as a control group with the feature disabled. All the players used their own betting account, with £200 in credit supplied by SBTech.

The research group results showed a clear correlation between age and using the new tool. Those players who were under 35 years of age took up the tool almost immediately, with the average player in this category using it after seeing it displayed just twice. Players in the over-35 category were much more resistant to the tool, with the average player viewing it five times before trying it out.

Overall, the Add2Bet tool proved to be very popular within the control group. Initially only 7% of bets on the English Premier League were placed using the Add2Bet tool to change an existing bet.

However, the tool is designed to be used in conjunction with the Cash Out feature. Of those players who used the Cash Out Feature during 40% or more of their total betting time, an impressive 70% of these placed a new bet using the Add2Bet tool.

SBTech Going Strong

If you haven't heard of SBTech, they provide award-winning sports betting solutions and management services to a global audience, with over 50 partners worldwide located in over 20 territories.

Its Chameleon360 iGaming platform, multi-award winning in-play betting and comprehensive omni-channel offering make SBTech one of the best names in the business. Its powerful sports book tool includes 2,000 betting types and over 20,000 live events listed every month.

The Add2Bet tool revolves around its fast live market bets, including 1 and 5 minute markets for football and basketball, as well as point/game tennis bets with higher margin in-play betting.

Since its inception, SBTech has won numerous awards, including Innovation in In-Play Betting at the EGR B2B Awards in both 2014 and 2015, and then Best In-Play Betting Software in 2016 and 2017.

It also won the Sports Betting Supplier of the Year at the 2017 GIA Awards. Upon collecting this award, Richard Carter, CEO of SBTech, said:

“Winning this award is a fitting tribute to the diligence and dedication of every SBTech employee. We have invested heavily to grow the business over the past 12 months, expanding our regulatory footprint by entering Portugal, Romania, Spain and Italy.

We’re now looking forward to an even stronger year, with numerous launches planned in additional regulated markets. We are also building on our expertise in big data analytics, personalisation and delivering a seamless Omni-channel experience, as we continue to grow SBTech into a true global heavyweight.”
