World Cup Prediction Nets Punter £83,000 from £100 Accumulator Bet

Now that the World Cup has officially ended, punters have turned to licking their wounds after a tournament full of unexpected upsets and savage humiliations. However, one lucky gambler is doing the exact opposite, having managed to predict that Germany would win the final match almost a year ago.

The bettor, now named as Rory Flynn, a Scottish father of one, made the on point observation that the "whole bet’s been right lucky". He placed his 5-fold accumulator bet at the start of the 2013-2014 football season, yet rather than opt for a low-risk wager, such as Celtic to win the Scottish Premier League, the prophetic punter managed to correctly predict which teams would win, despite some trying circumstances. His first guess was that Manchester City would emerge triumphant and finish top of the English Premier League, which they did, but not without a good chase from Liverpool and Chelsea. He also foresaw that Queens Park Rangers would earn a much-deserved promotion from the Championship to join Manchester City in next season’s challenge.

Those alone would be some remarkably impressive wins. But he also anticipated that Wolverhampton Wanderers would reign supreme over League One, fending off the likes of Brentford and Rotherham United, who have since been promoted to the Championship with Wolves. He then managed to accurately predict that Real Madrid would claim this year’s Champions League trophy, after beating city rivals Atletico Madrid 4-1.

To top the astonishing accumulator off, Flynn picked football’s greatest tournament for his very own grand finale, wagering that Germany would win the World Cup in Brazil. He had to wait 10 months for the bet to pay off, and endure plenty of worrying moments as he saw the rest of his accumulator unfold. And it must have been a nail-biting experience, watching Argentina keep Germany at bay until Mario Götze’s 114th minute goal in extra time. But ultimately it paid off; the young Bayern Munich midfielder’s goal ended up transforming the punter's £100 bet into a life-changing £83,252.

If you think you could pull off a feat like Flynn's, why not visit Betway Sports today to place your own audacious accumulator?
