The Mr Green brand is incredibly polished these days and the package of both sports and casino is one of the best in the business. The sportsbook has benefited massively from a more targeted approach toward this platform and now includes great sports, markets and even betting odds.
It’s not perfect and the lack of promotions for sports bettors is a concern. We would also like to see a little more depth when it comes to horse racing, as this section was threadbare compared to some.
All in all, we can see why it has won so many awards over the years as the Mr Green bandwagon continues to roll.
|Great design||Withdrawal fees|
|One wallet system links sports and casino|
|Limited markets for "niche" sports|
When you sign up for a new account at the Mr Green sportsbook, you’re going to be able to claim a £10 free Acca bet. This is based on depositing and then placing your first £10 bet within the sportsbook.
To trigger this offer, your bet must be placed at minimum odds of 4.0 and then for the bet to be settled before the free bet will hit your account. Once the free bet is in your account you can then use it on any accumulator bet you like.
However, you will need to make sure that the Acca includes 3 or more selections for it to be eligible for free bet use. Any winnings you keep as cash, but you won’t get the stake returned along with this.
Ongoing promotions from the Mr Green sportsbook are few and far between. In fact, at the time of writing, there aren’t any running at all. We do know that they sometimes have offers for existing players which usually come in the form of price boosts on the site, but again, they are scarce.
If you wanted to move across into the online casino then you’re going to get a much better range to choose from. One of the better promos is that of the 15 free daily spins offers where you get 15 free spins on the “Slot of the Day” when you spend £40 or more at the casino.
In 2017, Mr Green sports set out to change how its site worked and with it formed what’s been called “Mr Green 2.0”. With this development came a crack-team that was able to develop software for the site, which included both the casino and sportsbooks.
As a result, the sportsbook has benefitted massively from this and has been able to make the transition from a casino with a sportsbook, to a fully-fledged sportsbook that can stand on its own, going toe to toe with the best betting sites in the business.
The site comes with a decent range of features, but not something that we would particularly say was brimming with innovative components. However, Mr Green can provide a strong sports betting package and with it include several key features.
Cash out is one that is worthy of note. This is one of the strongest features in our opinion and not only does Mr Green sports allow full cash out, but also partial cash out as well. It’s all tied in nicely to the bet slip and markets are kept open for a decent amount of time, meaning that the cash out function is more accessible than most.
Live streaming is accessible for many of the horse races on-site as well. To access this, you need to be logged in and to have placed a bet on that race.
In-play betting is the heartbeat of the sportsbook for us and the one area that we think this sports betting site really excels. You can get a quick overview on the homepage about what’s going on, but the live betting section will give you a full list, broken-down by sports.
The match engine is another really strong feature. We loved the graphics for the match centre that gives an overview of what’s happening, along with an events timeline to see what’s preceded in the game. You can flick between game stats and markets, which again, adds to the depth of this section.
The live streaming platform is only linked with the racing section as of now. Mr Green does not include any streams for other sporting events, however, we do know that this was a feature that used to be on offer, so maybe it could make a return?
As mentioned above, the horse racing stream needs to be accessed by placing a bet on the race and it will start a couple of minutes before that race and end not long after. Its ties to the live betting section are what makes this stand out, allowing you to watch the race live and also track the markets as they react to the race.
Banking methods at Mr Green are a little limited in terms of volume, but what is available are some of the biggest and most accessible payment methods in the business.
They include: Revolut, Debit card, PayPal, Bank Transfer, Neteller, Skrill, and Paysafe Cards.
You’re able to withdraw back to all of these payment types and timescales vary from up to 2 hours for most of the e-wallets, and around 1 to 5 working days for bank transfer and Trustly. Some of these banking methods might not be available to new accounts and you will be able to check this once you are signed up and logged in.
The Mr Green sportsbook is, without doubt, one of the better-looking platforms that we’ve tested for some time. Changes were made back in 2018 and the sportsbook is reaping the rewards today.
We really like the inclusion of the search bar at the top of the page that allows you to type in sports, leagues or team names to find the bet you want. The green colour scheme is now synonymous with the Mr Green brand and the menu system down the left of the site is easy to use.
The Mr Green mobile app is available for both Android and iOS users from the respected app stores. Not only will you get access to the sportsbook, but also the casino from the same app, which makes it highly versatile.
Once the app has been downloaded you will notice just how easy it is to use and we were impressed with the speed. When betting on things like live sports the app really comes into its own and benefits from working a wide range of screen sizes and phone models.
Pricing across the board is pretty strong at Mr Green. We tested several sports and market and found that they were never too far away from some of the more experienced sportsbooks.
The only issues we found was the lack of consistency with lesser profile sports or betting markets. However, this is common with sportsbooks around the size of Mr Green.
To start the registration process you need to click the “Create Account” button at the top of the page. The process will only take a couple of minutes, but make sure you take the time to get your details correctly as you will need to verify these later.
The first part of the process will require you to register an email address and password. You will then need to enter a mobile number where they send you a verification code.
Once that’s all complete, you will need to fill out your personal info. This includes things like name, address, currency and gender.
The final part is the verification process where you need to send in documents as proof of ID and address. Don’t be alarmed by this as it’s industry-standard that all sportsbooks require you to do this before a player can sign up. If it didn’t have it, we would be massively concerned.
Support has been excellent from start to finish within our review. There have been times we need to access them not just to test them, but to find answers for our review and the customer service team has been incredibly responsive.
The first port of call for any issues has to be the help centre as it includes a plethora of articles on common problems. Aside from that, Mr Green sports has a live chat function that is available around the clock.
Responsible gambling is a massive part of the Mr Green set up and you know that from as soon as the registration process starts, that there are protocols that need to be met to get access.
On-site features include three key areas, which are deposit limits, loss limits and activity checker. This allows the player to set limits on their account but also for Mr Green to monitor in case they see that there might be a problem on the horizon.
Possibly better known for its work within the casino sector, the success that Mr Green has had over the last decade has meant its move into sports betting was a no brainer. Not only has it come into the space with the class and style that it’s best known for, but it’s also been able to create a brilliant product as well.
Over the years Mr Green has bagged a staggering number of awards from some of the most prestigious ceremonies in the world. Some of the more notable include:
EGR “Power 50” Influential Gaming Company
IGA 2017 Online Gaming Operator of the Year
IGA 2016 Mobile Operator of the Year
