Anna’s Love Island Odds Drift as Partner Sherif Exits Villa

Love Island contestant Anna Vakili has seen her chances of being the reality tv show’s top female dramatically reduced by the shock exit of Sherif Lanre just nine days into the series.

Sherif, who had been coupled up with pharmacist Anna, has parted ways with his fellow islanders after a mutual agreement with show bosses.

The semi-professional rugby player, who also works as a chef, is reported to have broken one of the golden rules which producers lay down to singletons before entering the villa.

Reports of Sherif’s exit broke on Tuesday morning and was later confirmed by a Love Island spokesperson.

The spokesperson said: “After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”

Sherif wasn't given much of a chance among the top bookmakers to go on and win the show, priced as high as 14/1 with some outlets after a difficult start to life in the villa.

Anna's Odds Tumble

His exit hasn't caused much disruption to the men's side of the Love Island betting standings with Curtis Pritchard (1/1), Joe Garratt (10/3) and Tommy Fury (5/1) still among the favourites to scoop the £50k jackpot.

However, Sherif's now former partner Anna, who was also courted by villa bad-boy Anton Danyluk, has tumbled from 8/1 to as high as 16/1 with some bookmakers.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Londoner Sherif has broken his silence since leaving the glamorous pad, stating his "regret" for what he describes as a "case of poor judgement".

He said: "In a case of poor judgement, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

"I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from."

"I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside."

Sherif isn't the only Islander to leave the show in controversial circumstances. Back in 2018 Georgia Steele and Sam Bird left the villa together after they were forced to recouple despite being in a romantic relationship.

Niall Aslam also left the show suddenly last year which he later revealed was due to his Asperger's condition.
