Their off-field operations have been given a boost as well with the announcement that they've signed a sponsorship contract with Unibet. And fellow Championship side Queens Park Rangers have been equally proactive, linking up with emerging casino and football betting platform Royal Panda for the foreseeable future.
The summer transfer window is all about the big clubs posturing and peacocking, flexing their financial muscle to bring in marquee players from around the globe. The battle amongst betting firms to secure sponsorship deals with the most exciting teams on the planet is equally fierce, and Betfair really has pulled off something of a coup in linking up with Juventus.
The Turin outfit are the most decorated side in Italian football in the past two decades, and their squad features some of the most recognisable faces in the game, including Gigi Buffon and Gonzalo Higuaín. The Betfair online betting site will be able to utilise the club’s playing staff in its marketing efforts, as well as display its branding at Juve’s Allianz Stadium home.

One of Betfair’s key competitors, Unibet, has looked to England rather than Italy and secured the signature of Aston Villa FC. The Villa might not have the trophy cabinet to match Juventus at the moment, but this is a club that doesn't lack ambition. After all, it's one of only five English clubs to have been crowned champions of Europe, having won the 1981-82 European Cup.
The Villains may have lost their top-flight status during the 2015/16 season, but they have a new owner in Dr Tony Xia, an experienced manager in Steve Bruce and a host of high-profile players on the books. With 30,000 plus spectators cramming into Villa Park every other week, Unibet is going to be getting its money’s worth from the deal.
The Unibet bookmaker will become the main sponsor of one of English football’s most prestigious outfits, with its branding on both the home and away shirts. A series of cool marketing initiatives, including the chance for Unibet customers to play against a team of Villa legends in a five-a-side game, will also be rolled out in 2017 and 2018.

Last, but by no means least, are QPR, who have teamed up with innovative betting and casino operator Royal Panda. The Hoops will have the Royal Panda branding emblazoned on their home and away strips for the next three seasons, as well as a significant presence at their iconic Loftus Road home.
The club may be toiling away in the English Championship, but with Ian Holloway at the helm and a young squad at his disposal, the Londoners will be hoping for a return to the Premier League sooner rather than later. QPR’s commercial director Euan Inglis commented:
