Gambling.com Launches "The Grand Jump" Horse Racing Game

Aspiring jockeys form a line! In anticipation of this year’s Aintree Grand National, Gambling.com has developed its very own video game.

The Grand Jump is an obstacle-avoidance game in which you play an up-and-coming jockey attempting to win the greatest race on the National Hunt calendar. The game is available to play on both desktop and mobile and you can try it out by clicking below. See if you can get around the course without taking a tumble!

How to Play The Grand Jump

To win the coveted Grand Jump, you’ll need to speed around four laps of the replicated grand national circuit, encompassing 120 fence and obstacle jumps in the process. You only need to use one button to play (or one finger on mobile) - but that doesn’t mean that the game is an easy ride!

The Grand Jump was designed to become harder the further you progress. You’ll find that by lap four the speed will have increased exponentially, making avoiding the fences exceedingly more difficult as time goes on. Want to finish quicker than all of your mates? Grab a pint of stout, a pair of binoculars, or a press hat to boost your speed even further!

Much like our favourite Grand National races over the years, The Grand Jump is a dramatic affair for jockeys that’s exhilarating when you win and devastating when you lose! In the game you’ll find plenty of nods to the incredible track on which the Grand National is run every year, with the fences you need to jump including the likes of the infamous Becher’s Brook, Foinavon, The Elbow, The Canal Turn and more.

What is the Grand National and When Does it Take Place?

Since the first race in 1839, the Grand National, which inspired The Grand Jump game, has remained one of the most popular horse racing betting events all over the world. All of the top online horse racing bookmakers offer odds on the race, which sees horses jumping thirty fences over two laps of the circuit. It takes place at Aintree, near Liverpool, England and, in terms of the prize fund, is the most valuable horse race in Europe. Check out betting odds for this year’s race, which takes place Saturday, April 10th, below.
