The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City threw a grand opening ceremony for the ages Thursday, as the casino franchise opened one of its most ambitious branches yet at the site of the old Trump Taj Mahal.
Amidst the mass guitar smashing, celebrity sightings and fireworks spectaculars was another exciting announcement that went overshadowed for the most part, but could huge implications for the success of hotel.
With an eye towards the modern age of gambling, Hard Rock AC launched its New Jersey online casino so that fans and gamers across the state can enjoy the quality of the Hard Rock brand from the comfort of home or anywhere they can use a computer.
Back in February, Hard Rock inked a key deal with the Gaming Innovation Group, a Malta-based public company that offers business-to-consumer casino, sports betting, and poker service through websites like Rizk.com, Betspin.com, Superlenny.com and Kaboo.com.
The cooperation between the two companies will be absolutely pivotal in Hard Rock’s attempt to put forth a world-class product and both have been hard at work developing the software and branding for months. Now, right alongside the exciting new brick-and-mortar establishment, the internet casino is currently in beta mode going through the final stages before its available to everyone in New Jersey.
When the agreement was reached representatives on both sides were thrilled to be joining forces to provide unmatched content including Robin Reed, CEO of GiG.
“We are excited to be part of Hard Rock International’s inspiring and innovative plans to become a global leader in the international online gaming space. The online casino will be a stand-out product with the sizzle of the Hard Rock music, entertainment and lifestyle brand.”
Kresimir Spajic, senior vice president of online gaming at Hard Rock, said the deal was part of a larger plan by the casino giant to become an international figure in internet gambling.
“Hard Rock has an ambitious plan to become a global leader in the international online gaming space. We are confident that, together with GiG, we can disrupt the market, through product innovation and unique user experience.”
The official press release from GiG highlighted the company’s unmatched touch and skill when developing high-end software and online content which will play a massive factor in creating a program that is up to Spajic and Hard Rock’s standards.
GIG will provide Hard Rock with a state of the art digital consumer portal, as well as the back-end platform to manage the operations. The online casino will be developed by GIG’s design and development team in collaboration with Hard Rock, with the offering launching in 2018. GiG has also announced it has kicked off the application process for the Casino Service Industry Enterprise License in New Jersey, moving the company into a third regulated market.
Getting into the nitty gritty of the site itself, early reviews describe it as straightforwardly designed and easy to navigate with an easy-to-manage sidebar featuring the most important links to the desired content.
With the version of the site out now being only a beta, there are a limited amount of games available to play as the site currently stands, but that will likely change in the coming months as competitors offer hundreds of options.
The casino currently features 148 slots, five table games, four instant win games and five video poker titles. Guests can easily keep track of the games they like and have recently played thanks to a variety of sorting tabs. The games featured are mainly provided by NetEnt, but some from software providers International Game Technology (IGT) and NextGen Gaming.
