Instant-Win Scratchcards Now Available at Jackpot.com

By Contributor | Scratch Cards | September 27th, 2017

Jackpot.com’s first birthday celebrations continue to bring new opportunities for canny punters. Its latest innovation now adds scratchcards to the mix. A staple game across many of the leading online casino and betting sites for the last five years, scratchcards with prizes up to £25,000 are now a part of Jackpot.com’s virtual portfolio.

Following the lottery-betting site’s first birthday in July 2017, the owners wanted to celebrate by providing customers old and new with more ways to win. Jackpot.com’s Chief Operating Officer, Pablo Grunbaum explained:

"Today’s addition serves to further diversify the customer experience and provide real-time entertainment to our growing audience. Following our first birthday in July, we’re very excited to keep expanding our portfolio and are planning to end the year in style – watch this space."

Get a Discount When You Buy in Bulk

Like the site’s selection of lottery games, the scratchcards are designed to offer big wins with minimal effort. However, another unique touch the operator has added to the action is discounts for bulk purchases. In the same way you can receive up to 30% off of a lottery’s list price when you subscribe to draws (i.e. set up automatic payments).

Jackpot.com will also give you a discount on scratchcards if you buy more than one. With as much as 10% off when you buy ten at once, it’s now possible to play for prizes topping £25,000 for less than £2.50 per game. In addition to the big money game known as Dragon Scrolls, the site’s scratchcard lobby now has the following titles:

  • Cops & Robbers: £2 entry fee and a £20,000 jackpot
  • Mega Love: £0.50 entry fee and a £5,000 jackpot
  • Zodiac Fortune: £1 entry fee and a £10,000 jackpot
  • Ocean Fortune: £2 entry fee and a £20,000 jackpot
  • Cash Cuisine: £0.50 entry fee and a £1,000 jackpot
  • Barn Ville: £1 entry fee and a £10,000 jackpot

New Games Give Jackpot.com the Edge Over Competition

The move to offer a new selection of games comes at a time when one of Jackpot.com’s main competitors, Lottoland, is trying to rebound from a fine. Following a review into the site’s advertising practices, the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) moved to fine the online lottery betting site £150,000.

According to the regulator, a complaint made to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) about a Lottoland radio ad was unclear. Like Jackpot.com, Lottoland offers betting on lottery draws rather that direct entry into them.

This subtle yet important distinction is what allows Jackpot.com and Lottoland to offer players access to dozens of international lotteries. However, this distinction wasn’t made clear enough for one radio listener and the ASA agreed.

As part of its remit, the UKGC has an obligation to follow up issues such as this and levy a fine if necessary. Richard Watson, Gambling Commission Programme Director for Enforcement and Intelligence said:

"In this case the operator used ambiguous terminology in their marketing and advertising, which was misleading. That is not acceptable and the £150,000 penalty package reflects the seriousness of Lottoland’s failures. We expect all operators will learn the lessons from this case and take action to ensure that their consumers are clear about what they are being offered."

More Ways to Win at Jackpot.com

With Lottoland on the backfoot, Jackpot.com has a chance to solidify its position as the leading lottery betting site in the industry. Its new selection of scratchcards are part of this push. As well the new games, Jackpot.com is gearing up for another potentially mammoth payout with the EuroMillions.

As of September 24th, the Europe-wide lottery’s jackpot had hit £143 million. With players able to enter the draw for less than the £2.50 sale price if they subscribe, Jackpot.com could be set to payout one of its biggest ever prizes. For those that don’t play the lottery, the site itself could potentially offer more casino-style games.

Although there haven’t been any official announcements, Grunbaum has stated that he is looking to diversify Jackpot.com’s portfolio with real-time entertainment. With other online lottery betting sites offering a selection of slots and table games, the latest innovation might be the tip of the iceberg in terms of new betting options.
