If you are searching for a league to bet on this weekend, then the German Bundesliga is the place to look.

Whether it's a 'both teams to score' or 'over 2.5 total goals' accumulator, the top flight in German football has been bettor-friendly in recent weeks.

Of the nine fixtures played last weekend, BTTS landed in eight of them while all but one saw over 2.5 goals pay out.

The only team that failed to score was basement side Schalke who lost 3-0 at home to Bayer Levekusen, although it could have been a clean sweep had Steven Skrzybski's 72nd minute penalty not been saved by Leverkusen keeper Lukas Hradecky.

Schalke travel to Augsburg on Sunday with BTTS having occurred in their last three away games and in Augsburg's previous three matches. And three or more goals have been scored in all six of Schalke's away games as well as Augsburg's 3-1 loss at Hoffenheim on Monday.

With several leading bookmakers offering acca insurance if one of the legs in a bet fails to deliver, last weekend would have been a very profitable bet.

Recent BTTS and Over 2.5 goals stats in Bundesliga

  • Round 10: BTTS paid out in 8 of the 9 games and over 2.5 total goals paid out in 8 of the 9 games
  • Round 9: BTTS paid out in 8 of the 9 games and over 2.5 total goals paid out in 6 of the 9 games
  • Round 8: BTTS paid out in 8 of the 9 games and over 2.5 total goals paid out in 5 of the 9 games
  • Round 7: BTTS paid out in 6 of the 9 games and over 2.5 total goals paid out in 8 of the 9 games

In the last four rounds of Bundesliga fixtures, both teams have scored in 83 per cent of the 36 matches played while 75 per cent have seen a minimum of three total goals scored. But that's the past, what about the future?

The good news is that all nine fixtures taking place in Germany this weekend, including Eintracht Frankfurt's trip to Wolfsburg on Friday evening, match up very well for either BTTS or over 2.5 goals or both.

The odds for 'both teams to score' landing in all nine games this weekend works out at 47/1 while the odds for over 2.5 goals occurring in all nine fixtures this weekend is 43/1.

But if you are looking for more value you can get odds around 225/1 for BTTS and over 2.5 goals landing in each game.

There are four fixtures taking place this weekend that sees a team involved in the Champions League or Europa League face a team that have had a full week to prepare for their fixture hoping to catch their opponents off guard following their European exploits.

All six German sides made it through their respective group stage to guarantee European football next year including RB Leipzig.

They pipped Manchester United to second spot in Group H thanks to their 3-2 win over the Red Devils on Tuesday night at the Red Bull Arena.

Leipzig host Werder Bremen on Saturday and it's a fixture that matches up very well in the BTTS and over 2.5 goals markets.

In each of the last four league and cup fixtures played by Leipzig, there have been goals for both them and the teams they have faced including Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United.

And in each of those four contests, there have been three or more total goals scored.

Stand Out Fixture For Goals This Weekend: Mainz v Cologne

  • BTTS has paid out in Mainz's last 6 league games & Cologne's last 8 league games
  • Over 2.5 goals has paid out in 5 of Mainz's last 6 league games & Cologne's last 3 league games

Werder Bremen have been involved in seven successive games in which BTTS has paid out and they followed up their 5-3 loss at Wolfsburg with a 2-1 loss at home to Stuttgart last weekend.

Champions Bayern Munich's last five league games have seen goals for both them and their opponents and they face a trip to Union Berlin on Saturday.

The last four league matches played by last season's runners-up Dortmund have also seen BTTS land and they are at home to Stuttgart who are on a run of six successive games in which BTTS has paid out.

The Bundesliga has been fun to follow in recent weeks and if recent trends continue, then there is a very good chance the German top flight delivers for bettors once again.
