Man City vs Arsenal Predictions:

Man City have been installed as the odds-on favourites to beat Arsenal when the teams clash in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday.

Betting sites are offering just 4/5 on Pep Guardiola’s men getting the better of the Gunners in this highly anticipated clash.

However, Arsenal are currently five points clear of City at the top of the Premier League table - with a game in hand - after embarking on a long unbeaten streak.

They are brimming with confidence right now following a 3-2 victory over Man Utd on Sunday, so Guardiola’s men will need to be at their brilliant best to win this game.

These teams have not yet played one another this season, so it will be intriguing to see if either of them can lay down a marker for the rest of the campaign.

We have analysed the key betting markets and highlighted our top tips below.

Will This Game Live Up To Its Billing?

This promises to be a blockbuster clash between the two most potent attacking forces in the Premier League.

Man City have banged in 53 goals in just 20 league games so far this season, and they are fresh from beating Spurs 4-2 and Wolves 3-0.

However, they concede a goal per game, which has resulted in them trailing the Gunners by five points in the standings at the halfway stage in the campaign.

Arsenal improved their tally to 45 goals from 19 matches courtesy of that swashbuckling win against United at the weekend.

They have found the back of the net in every game apart from a tense 0-0 draw with Newcastle at the start of January, which bodes well for their chances of scoring against City on Friday.

Guardiola’s men have only failed to score once in 20 league games so far, and they have been similarly prolific in cup competitions.

Yet they are lumbered with a slightly leaky defence - they have only kept four clean sheets in 11 matches at the Etihad - so they may struggle to keep the Gunners at bay for 90 minutes and new betting sites fancy goals in this one.

Tip: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals - 10/11 With Parimatch

Back Haaland To Maintain His Hot Streak

Erling Haaland fired in his fourth hat-trick of the season to put Wolves to the sword at the weekend.

He has now scored 25 goals in just 20 league games, leaving him on course for a record-breaking campaign.

He benefits from magnificent service from the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva, which has helped him score a goal every 62 minutes this season.

Haaland went on a mini-goal drought at the start of January, but it ended with a powerful header in the 4-2 win against Spurs a week ago.

The Norwegian striker has 31 goals in all competitions this season, cementing his status as the world’s most devastating marksman.

Guardiola left him on the bench in the last round of the FA Cup, when City thumped Chelsea 4-0 at the Etihad, but that came during a very busy period in the schedule.

He will be keen to secure a statement victory over Arsenal, a team that have threatened City’s domestic hegemony, so he must be tempted to start Haaland on Friday.

If he plays, the chances of Haaland finding the back of the net are high, as Arsenal’s central defenders are a little error-prone.

Should Haaland be left out of the starting XI, a bet on understudy Julian Alvarez scoring at any time would be appealing.

Tip: Erling Haaland To Score Anytime - 4/5 With Unibet

Can Man City Keep Nketiah Quiet?

Mikel Arteta And Pep Guardiola

Some pundits wrote off Arsenal’s title chances after star striker Gabriel Jesus was injured while representing Brazil at the World Cup.

However, youngster Eddie Nketiah has led the line with aplomb since taking his place in the Arsenal attack.

He may lack Jesus’ flair and intensity, but Nketiah is a poacher extraordinaire, and he has a significantly better goals per minutes ratio than his Brazilian teammate.

A brace against United at the weekend took his tally to six goals from six games since becoming the Gunners’ main man up front.

Nketiah is looking sharp right now, and he could be worth a punt to score at anytime on football betting sites.

Tip: Eddie Nketiah To Score Anytime - 19/5 With William Hill

Do Man City Deserve To Be Odds-On Favourites?

Man City have won their last five games against Arsenal, and they also have home advantage on Friday.

That perhaps makes it easy to see why they are heavy favourites to win this match with betting apps.

However, Arsenal are a different animal this season. The Gunners have suffered just one defeat in 19 league games, and they boast a formidable blend of steel and panache within their starting XI.

They have already beaten Tottenham home and away, while victories over Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool underscored their credentials, so they should be undaunted by this match.

It could all depend on how seriously Mikel Arteta takes the game.

He does not have a particularly large squad at his disposal, even after the recent signings of Leandro Trossard and Jakub Kiwior, so he may decide to rest a few important players and preserve their energies for the league.

However, he will also be loath to see Arsenal’s current momentum derailed, so we should expect Arteta to send out a strong team at the Etihad on Friday.

City deserve their status as favourites, but it is hard to justify betting on them at just 4/5 when Arsenal have been in such fine form of late.

There is a lot more value available on the draw, which is often a strong option when two heavyweight teams clash.

Tip: Draw - 16/5 With Bet365
