The Gods have exploded onto the Playtech scene with the launch of a new Age of the Gods range of games, featuring seven new titles based on Greek mythology.
Zeus will be the first of the progressive jackpot slot games released within the next few weeks, with the remaining titles – Hercules, Furious Four and Athena – to be launched over the course of 2016. All of the titles comprise a five-reel, 25-line slot and will offer players incredible bonuses and other engaging features like free games and free spins.
Playtech is already well established as one of the biggest gambling software providers in the betting industry. These new titles will only add to the company’s extensive collection of more than 600 games.
Paddy Power, Coral and Ladbrokes are some of the major betting companies that utilise Playtech software, and will now offer their customers access to the Age of the Gods slots.
This exciting launch comes just a couple of months after Playtech signed a multi-year licensing deal with Warner Bros Consumer Products to produce four DC Comics-branded casino games.
The games, based on iconic comic titles such as Batman and Superman, are part of the omni-channel Playtech ONE platform, which allows players access to content on any channel or device through a single wallet and account.
These new games come in the wake of Disney’s move to gradually discontinue Star Wars and Marvel-branded casino games in line with its child-friendly image. The popular Marvel range of slots, including The Avengers, Iron Man III and The Incredible Hulk, were powered by Playtech’s software.
The company clearly isn’t standing still, though, and will be hoping that these new titles can fill the void left by Marvel and reassert Playtech’s place as one of the leading slot providers in the business. Shimon Akad, chief operating officer of Playtech, said:
"Our casino unit has developed a series of incredible, high-quality games that will add yet another dimension to our already unique suite of 600 best-performing titles. Zeus is just the beginning; the Gods are most certainly coming and our licensees and their players can expect a whole stream of Age of the Gods content that will be launched across the rest of this year."
So far, Playtech has only released a video preview of the new games, so there is no detailed information about features. But what is already clear from the preview is that Age of the Gods lives up to Playtech’s high standards when it comes to aesthetics and visual appeal.
The graphics are bright and colourful, with an ancient battlefield in the background and mythological symbols and characters decorating the grid.
Playtech is likely to release more information about Age of the Gods in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. For now, head to Coral Casino to try your hand at other top Playtech slots.
