Tom Cruise Favourite to Beat Justin Bieber in Proposed Fight

Tom Cruise is the early favourite to beat Justin Bieber in an MMA showdown after the latter challenged the Hollywood superstar to a fight.

Bieber aired a message to Cruise on Twitter on June 10, demanding a rumble in UFC’s Octagon.

"I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon,” Bieber wrote. “Tom if you don’t take this fight your (sic) scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight?”

Cruise is yet to have responded to the strange challenge, which seems to have come despite no known animosity between the pair.

Yet bookmakers Paddy Power have already revealed their odds on who they think would win the contest.

Cruise, 56, is the 8/11 odds-on favourite with the bookmaker to claim victory, while Bieber is out at evens (1/1).

A spokesman for PaddyPower said: “We believe Justin Bieber is Cruisin’ for a bruisin’ after offering out Tom on Twitter – does he forget that the 56-year-old does all his own stunts?!

“Though Bieber is younger and taller, we believe that experience on his side, the Hollywood superstar will leave Bieber wishing he’d never sent that tweet.”

Cruise Has Experience Over Bieber

Cruise is well known for starring in some of the world’s biggest action blockbusters, including the Mission Impossible series and Jack Reacher.

The actor was a wrestler in his high school years and has had varied degrees of martial arts training during his filming career.

Bieber, on the other hand, can lay little claim to MMA experience other than the revelation his father was a martial arts enthusiast. He was also spotted at a UFC gym in Hoboken, New Jersey back in February.

As for who would put on the fight, UFC sensation Conor McGregor has already claimed he is ready to act as promoter.

“If Tom Cruise is man enough to accept this challenge, McGregor Sports and Entertainment will host the bout,” McGregor tweeted. “Does Cruise have the sprouts to fight, like he does in the movies? Stay tuned to find out!”

Meanwhile, boxing legend turned promotor Oscar De La Hoya – who heavily criticised Floyd Mayweather’s record-breaking per-per-view boxing bout with McGregor in 2017 – also appeared to throw his hat into the promotional ring, replying “I got you” to Bieber’s original tweet.
