TopGolf Partners with Online NJ Sportsbook PointsBet

TopGolf Partners with Online NJ Sportsbook PointsBet

TopGolf and PointsBet are now partners. The vastly popular golfing venue agreed to a deal with the online New Jersey sportsbook. Although Australian founded, PointsBet recently unveiled their online American sportsbook for New Jersey residents.

Since, PointsBet has been looking for brand ambassadors such as signing both Allen Iverson and Darrelle Revis to partnership agreements.

PointsBet's deal with TopGolf is just the latest signing Johnny Aitken's company has notched, adding to the legitimate growth of the online sports betting industry.

TopGolf a Top Partner

The partnership only includes TopGolf's located in the state of New Jersey, specifically both the Edison and the Mt. Laurel locations.

TopGolf has 62 venues in the U.S., 11 of which are being built. They also have four venues internationally, with three more being built.

The company is expanding, as PointsBet saw the golfing brand as a good opportunity to partner with.

Aspects of the new partnership will see TopGolf host various contests for major sporting events. These sporting events can be anything from The Masters to Wrestlemania.

Currently, the first co-branded event New Jersey TopGolf plans on hosting is the 'March Madness Hole in One' contest on Mar. 23. The winner of the event will take home 25 thousand dollars.

Another aspect of the new alliance will include a PointsBet-branded bar for multiple purposes besides ordering food and drinks.

Going Digital

The branded-bar will include live game odds for fans to enjoy, which includes offers and rewards that can be unlocked by downloading the PointsBet mobile app.

Wagers will not be available to make on location, as anyone wanting to bet on sports will have to do so from the mobile app or online.

Increasing online fan engagement and social media outreach is the main goal for PointsBet, as they are very much an online-based sportsbook company.

In January, New Jersey made $385 million off sports betting (mainly from the NFL postseason). $305 million (roughly 80 percent) of that intake came from mobile or online wagers.

As more states begin to slowly legalize sports betting, TopGolf locations partnering with online sportsbooks like PointsBet will likely expand.

As mentioned earlier, 14 TopGolf venues are currently being built, as the company will likely look for similar deals where sports betting is regulated.

The underlying news from this partnership, however, is the direction it may lead for others considering legal sports betting.

TopGolf serves roughly 17 million guests on an annual basis.

A popular entertainment brand that's willing to deal with a regulated sportsbook leaves optimism for sports betting fans moving forward.
