DraftKings Acquires Israel-based Gaming Software Company
DraftKings announced Monday the acquisition of Tel Aviv-based BlueRibbon Software, a global gaming company that provides real-time tools to allow for jackpot promotions.
The Boston-based DraftKings will now be able to integrate BlueRibbon’s jackpot functionality, including personalized promotions and rewards tailored to the individual customer or jackpots that pay out across DraftKings’ various product offerings, according to a news release.
“Integrating BlueRibbon’s proprietary, proven technology will enable DraftKings to create dynamic incentives for our users as they engage with our products,” Paul Liberman, DraftKings co-founder and president of global technology and products, said in the release. “The team at BlueRibbon brings technical and gamification expertise and broad industry experience to DraftKings, and we are excited to leverage this technology to further differentiate our product offerings and engage customers in new ways.”
What is BlueRibbon Software?
Founded in 2017 by CEO Amir Askarov and Chief Marketing Officer Dan Fischer, BlueRibbon’s jackpot technology can be applied to any vertical, game or content, the release said. Customers can play jackpots, which the company says allows for a new level of excitement and anticipation during game play.
DraftKings said it intends to integrate BlueRibbon’s leadership and current employees, located in Tel Aviv, into its workforce. In addition, DraftKings intends to increase its hiring in its Tel Aviv office, it said.
“We created BlueRibbon to give companies the ability to differentiate themselves within the highly competitive sports betting and iGaming industries with unique and innovative marketing platform,” Askarov said in the release. “Joining DraftKings will allow us to continue to build our platform to enhance the player experience and to strengthen our Tel Aviv-based team.”
