FanDuel, Pat McAfee Announce Expanded Partnership Deal

FanDuel and former NFL punter Pat McAfee today announced an extension of their partnership, designating the sports-tech entertainment company as exclusive sports betting, daily fantasy sports, casino and horse racing provider for Pat McAfee Inc.

According to the news release, it’s the first official partnership between a legal sportsbook and sports media personality. They had announced an initial affiliate agreement in September.

FanDuel will distribute McAfee content on multiple platforms. FanDuel and McAfee hope to bring sports betting into a legal, safe environment and deepen their sports betting relationship, the release said.

As part of the deal, the nightly Pat McAfee Show will air on TVG — FanDuel's nationally distributed horse racing television network that includes TVG, TVG2, and the Watch TVG OTT App.

"Pat McAfee is a star in the sports media world," Matt King, chief executive officer of FanDuel Group, said in the release. "Our ability to evolve how we work together from a very successful affiliate relationship into a full-blown media partnership is something ground-breaking and incredibly exciting for McAfee fans and sports fans nationwide.”

A two-time Pro Bowl selection, McAfee, 33, played his entire eight-year career with the Indianapolis Colts. He was drafted out of West Virginia by the Colts in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

His best season might have been his last. In 2016 he averaged 49.3 yards a kick and made his second Pro Bowl. Since retiring, McAfee transitioned to media and has worked with ESPN, Fox Sports, WWE, Barstool Sports and the Indianapolis Star.

Daily Shows, Social Media Content Part Of The Deal

As part of the multi-year deal, FanDuel will be a “fully ingrained part” of Pat McAfee Inc., including daily shows, social media content and podcasts. FanDuel will distribute the 10 p.m. show nightly on SportsGrid, which can be found on Roku, Pluto and Xumo, among others.

FanDuel will be offering special odds boosts and unique promotions for its customers created by McAfee, the release said. Sports fans will be able to engage with McAfee throughout the year. The two companies will also develop new talent under Pat McAfee Inc.

FanDuel Group consists of a portfolio that includes FanDuel, Betfair US and TVG. FanDuel Group has a presence across 45 states and 8.5 million customers, the release said, and is a subsidiary of Flutter Entertainment.
